Zamalek determines its final position regarding the summit match

Zamalek Club revealed, through an official statement today, Saturday, June 22, its final position on retracting the decision not to play the upcoming summit match against Al-Ahly in the Championship. Egyptian League Football for the current football season 2023-2024.

Zamalek had published a statement following the defeat against Al-Masry of Port Said, last week, in which it denounced the arbitration decisions, and also confirmed that it would not play any match in the second round until all teams played their matches.

Reports stated that the Zamalek Board of Directors, headed by Hussein Bebb, accepted an invitation to meet with officials of the Egyptian Club Association, and that they may retract their decision not to play the next match against Al-Ahly.

Ahmed Salem, the official spokesman for the Zamalek Club, wrote in a post on his account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “The Board of Directors of the Zamalek Club, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, confirms its adherence to its four demands contained in the statement issued on June 17 after the Al-Masry match, and there is no truth at all to what is being said about it.” He retracted any of his demands or changed any of his positions.”

The summit match is supposed to be held at Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday, June 25, as part of the twenty-seventh round of the Egyptian Premier League championship.

And it occupies Zamalek It is in ninth place in the Egyptian League standings with 34 points, while Al-Ahly Club occupies second place with 42 points.

It is worth noting that Al-Ahly played only two fewer matches than Zamalek, which still has 6 postponed matches, before the summit match between them.
