Press reports had stated that Saudi NEOM had reached an agreement with Zamalek to sign Zizo this summer, but this was denied by Zamalek’s spokesman.

The spokesman for Zamalek Club stressed that the financial offer submitted by Saudi Neom is under consideration and not negotiation, confirming that so far there is no decision for Zizo to leave the African Confederation champion.
In response to the question, “Will selling Zizo solve Zamalek’s financial crises?”, he replied, “It doesn’t count that way. Certainly, the financial situation is very difficult because the fines paid by the club consumed many resources, in addition to the players’ previous dues, which are a top priority… but this has nothing to do with the idea of putting Zizo up for sale.”

Regarding the requests of the Portuguese coach Jose Gomez regarding the new deals, he explained: “So far, the coach has not sat with the management. The only talk with him was about certain matters, such as asking him about Mutyaba or about the team’s needs for a specific player in order to renew, but Gomez will submit a report on August 17 and will talk about his needs and based on that the board will take action.”
