The readiness of the Jordanian Football League teams varied, with the start of the first round, which witnessed five victories and one draw, while the audience attendance did not meet the required level.
Despite the short preparation period before the start of the Jordanian League Championship, some teams showed good readiness, while other teams seemed unable to provide what would justify them winning or drawing, due to their need for more time for their players to reach the desired technical and physical level.

Great start and deserved victories
Al-Hussein Irbid team began its journey to defend the title, achieving a deserved and logical victory over Al-Jazeera, which was recently promoted to the Jordanian Professional League, with two goals to none.
The team presented Hussein Irbid played at a reassuring level, and its Portuguese coach, Tiago, managed the match well, in which the star coming from Al-Faisaly, Yousef Abu Jalboush “Saisa”, shone, as he scored the two winning goals.
Al-Wahdat also appeared in a way that pleased its fans, when it easily accomplished Al-Sarih’s mission and emerged victorious with a score of 4-1, which was enough to give it the top spot in the standings, ahead by goal difference.
What made Al-Wehdat fans even happier was that the team accomplished the task with ease, enabling its technical manager, Raafat Ali, to provide the opportunity for young faces to participate and experience the professional duo, Senegalese Cesar and Moroccan Marwan Aflah.
Al-Ramtha team returned in the first round with a valuable and deserved victory over Shabab Al-Aqaba with two clean goals scored by the team captain Hamza Al-Dardour, while Al-Ahly was finishing off Mugher Al-Sarhan with a score of 3-1, before Al-Salt succeeded in scoring an important victory over its guest Shabab Al-Urdun 2-1.
Only Ma’an team pulled off a big surprise when they forced a goalless draw against… Al-Faisaly Which is one of the most prominent candidates to compete for the Jordanian League title for the new season.
This draw is considered a victory for Ma’an team, especially since it played the match with a reduced squad of 14 players, as it is still waiting for the arrival of its foreign professionals and is seeking to register more local players.
Good scoring rate and a goal for a foreign professional
The matches of the first round of the Jordanian League 2024-25 witnessed a good scoring rate, as 16 goals were scored in 6 matches, 8 of which were scored in the first half, and the rest in the second half.
Al-Wehdat and Al-Ahly are the strongest in attack, as the two teams scored 7 goals alone, while Al-Sarih had the weakest defence, having conceded 4 goals.
Four teams were unable to score any goals in the first round, namely Al-Jazeera, Shabab Al-Aqaba, Al-Faisaly and Ma’an, while Al-Wahdat’s Senegalese professional, Cesar, was the only foreigner who was able to score in this round.
3 players score two goals in the opening of the Jordanian League
More than one player managed to score two goals in the first round, which ensured that their owners topped the scorers’ list. They are: Hamza Al-Dardour “Al-Ramtha”, Yousef Abu Jalboush “Al-Hussein Irbid”, and Mohammed Abdul Muttalib “Al-Salt”.
One goal was scored by each of: Ahmed Sariwa, Laith Abu Al-Rahal and Anas Abu Taima (Al-Ahly), Moataz Obeidat (Mugher Al-Sarhan), Daniel Afana, Ibrahim Sabra, Senegalese Asinio Cesar and Baha Faisal (Al-Wehdat), Mohammed Al-Akash (Al-Sarih) and Rawad Abu Khaizaran (Shabab Al-Urdun).
