The truth about preventing Zamalek from the African Super Cup due to the license

The past few days have witnessed questions about Zamalek Club’s position regarding participating in the Confederation Cup next season in the event that it does not obtain a license to participate in continental tournaments.

The White Knight is facing a crisis due to not obtaining the African license, due to some financial fines imposed on it, as the African Union requires teams participating in African championships to settle all their financial issues before the end of June.

CAF gave the club a new deadline, July 5, to settle its situation with other parties, especially former team striker Khaled Boutayeb, who received a ruling to suspend registration due to his dues amounting to one million and 400 thousand dollars.

Mohamed El Tobgy, Director of the Club Licensing Department at the Egyptian Football Association, settled the controversy over the possibility of preventing the giant Mit Okba from playing the African Super Cup match against its historical rival Al Ahly, by saying in television statements, “The African Super Cup has nothing to do with licenses because it is based on last season’s license, and thus the White Knight will participate against Al Ahly in a normal manner.”

He also confirmed that if the White Club fails to obtain the license; The next club will participate in the Confederation, and in the case of the Egyptian League, it will be Enppi.

How does Zamalek move?

The Board of Directors of the White Castle is communicating with representatives of Khaled Boutayeb to try to schedule his dues and pay them in installments, but the Moroccan player is committed to receiving his full dues in one payment due to the club’s previous intransigence towards him for long periods.

Zamalek, on the other hand, is trying to submit a petition to CAF to obtain a license, based on the fact that the letter of suspension of registration due to Khalid Boutaib’s fine arrived at the White Castle on April 24, and that Zamalek’s financial situation was without crises before March 31, which is the last date in the current season, after which any penalty will be carried over to the next season.
