She explained: “Rizk requested to meet a number of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya players, and he also stipulated that the management keep a group of players, namely: Ibrahim Bayesh, Saad Abdul Amir, Mohammed Hamid, and Mustafa Saadoun, as well as keeping the Yemeni player Ahmed Abdul Hakim Al-Sarouri, while he will allow the departure of a number of other players who will not be part of his plans, especially since they want more playing minutes.”

She continued: “Rizk also informed the management that he will take over the file of the professional players in the Falcons, as he will have absolute authority to conclude contracts, in addition to his technical vision in choosing local players in Iraq.” Noting that the Qatari coach agreed with the management to hold a training camp for the Falcons in Turkey in preparation for the new season.

The sources added: “Coach Rizk will remain in Baghdad until the end of the Iraq Cup final match between Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al-Zawraa, next Wednesday, and then he will return to Doha to begin actual preparations in August, by entering the Turkey camp.”

By officially signing to coach Al-Saqr next season, Rizk will be the second Qatari coach to work in Iraq after his compatriot Talal Al-Balushi, coach of Iraqi club Zakho.
