Sudan coach’s first comment on the draw for the African Nations Cup qualifiers

Sudan coach James Kwesi Appiah welcomed the draw for the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, stressing the ability of the “Falcons of Jediane” to qualify, and noted the great boom that has occurred recently.

He continued: “The Angolan team is excellent, but we can overcome them, and we can also outperform the Niger team.”

The Sudanese coach considered that the confidence with which the Sudanese national team stars perform is great and said: “We respect the competitors, but we do not fear a specific team. The national team stars perform with great confidence and enter the matches with double motivation.”

He added: “I believe that the circumstances of war made my task easier. Instead of being negatively affected by what is happening in their country, the circumstances of war increased the players’ determination and insistence on giving their best and appearing in an honorable manner.”

The Sudan coach added: “I think they are strong fighters who have stood up to strong teams and worked hard to make history for themselves. I am confident that they can continue on the same path they were on in the World Cup qualifiers.”

He added: “The Sudanese national team has recently become the talk of the world. We will continue to work hard to achieve the desired goals. We can present an honorable face for Sudanese football, after finding full cooperation from the Football Association. We must double our efforts, set our goals and work on them with diligence and effort.”
