Rybakina managed to beat Svitolina, the 2017 French Open champion, in their head-to-head matches, after they tied with two wins each, and she also renewed her victory over her after the previous meeting this year in the fourth round of Roland Garros 6-4 and 6-3.

Rybakina aims to win Wimbledon title

“I’m very happy with the way I played,” said Rybakina, the 2023 Australian Open runner-up, after her win, adding that she was targeting the title “of course.”

“It’s an incredible moment for me right now. I’ve had tough times, really tough times. Even before the tournament started, it was tough,” she said after her win. “There were a lot of doubts, so I’m very happy that I didn’t give up. I’m happy to be here on the centre court and to be in the semi-finals.”
