Real Scandal.. Mido Analyzes Egypt’s Historic Loss Against Morocco

Former Egyptian football star Ahmed Hossam Mido commented on Egypt’s historic loss against Morocco in the football competition’s third-place match, as part of… Paris Olympics 2024.

Yesterday, Thursday, the Egyptian Olympic team suffered a heavy defeat by six clean goals against its Moroccan counterpart, thus missing out on the opportunity to win its first medal in football in the history of its participation in the Summer Olympic Games.

The Pharaohs under 23 team had an honorable journey in the Paris Olympics, where they topped their third group in the group stage, beating Spain, then surpassing Paraguay in the quarter-finals, only to be eliminated with difficulty against France in the semi-finals, and suffer a heavy and surprising defeat against Morocco in the match to determine third and fourth place.

Mido comments on Egypt’s historic loss against Morocco in the Olympics

Mido was one of the most prominent former Egyptian football stars who bitterly commented on the historic and unexpected defeat of the Egyptian Olympic team, by six clean goals in the match to determine third and fourth place in the Summer Olympics in Paris, by publishing a tweet on his account on the “X” website in which he bitterly analyzed this loss.

Mido described the defeat as:The Pharaohs“Against the “Atlas Lions” with the real “scandal”, and attributed its occurrence to a number of reasons, saying: “Unfortunately, our loss against Morocco is a scandal, but it is a real scandal, a scandal that reflects the huge difference between a football school that has begun to lose its identity and a football school that has known how to develop itself.”

The former star of the Egyptian national team, who won the 2006 African Cup of Nations with it, continued: “The Moroccan school knew how to export players to Europe, knew how to develop its coaches, knew how to develop its training licenses, and knew how to exploit the potential of its sons who have great experience in various fields.”

Mido concluded his analysis of the reasons for the loss, saying: “There is a country (Morocco) that has men who serve it, and a country (Egypt) that has men who serve themselves. All respect to Morocco and its children, and we must wake up.”

It is worth noting that Egypt’s historic loss against Morocco is not the first defeat suffered by the “Pharaohs” in the Olympic ranking match. They had previously lost in the match to determine third and fourth place with a score of (11-3) against Hungary in the Amsterdam 1928 tournament, and also lost with a score of (3-1) to Germany in the Tokyo 1964 Olympics.
