She noted: “The coaching staff of the Iraqi youth team will hold a meeting with the Iraqi Football Association, in order to develop a preparation map for the team before entering the West Asian Championship competitions, and also to reveal the latest developments related to adding expatriate players to the team, so that they will be at the disposal of the coach in the coming period.”

The West Asian Youth Championship matches will be held at Prince Mohammed Stadium in Zarqa, Jordan, and the Polo Stadium in Al Hussein Youth City in the capital, Amman.
The West Asian Federation has set August 7, 2024 as the date for the tournament draw, which comes before the upcoming Asian qualifiers for the finals of this category.
During the draw, the 9 teams will be divided into three groups, which will play the first round in a single-stage league system, with the first in each group qualifying along with the best second-place team to the semi-finals, and then the two winners will qualify for the final match.
The West Asian Federation confirmed to the federations its right to conduct examinations and x-rays to verify the eligibility of players, within the age group designated for the tournament, at the time it deems appropriate, and according to the appropriate mechanism within the general framework of the Asian Federation’s instructions in this regard.
