Police wins the Iraqi Premier League… and controversy over the title number!

The only goal of the match was scored by the professional player from Niger, Abdul Majeed Abu Bakr, in the 51st minute of the match, taking advantage of the confusion of Dohuk’s defense from a rebound from a corner kick.

With this victory, Al-Shorta reached 84 points at the top of the general standings, ensuring the crowning of the Iraqi Premier League title after Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya stumbled, while Dohuk’s points stopped at 57 points in sixth place.

In another match held at the same time, the runner-up Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya tied with its host Al-Qasim with a score of 1-1 in the match that was hosted by Al-Kut Olympic Stadium, causing the Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya team to lose its chances of winning the Iraqi Premier League title.

Al-Qasim team scored a goal by player Falah Abdul Karim in the 84th minute of the match with a shot from outside the penalty area that settled in the Falcons’ net, after which Saad Abdul Amir equalized the score in the 90+7 minute.

With this draw, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya team reached 79 points in second place in the general standings, while Al-Qasim team reached 33 points in seventeenth place.

In the third match, which was also held at the same time, Al-Zawraa team defeated its guest Al-Naft with a score of 3-1 in the match that was hosted by the Magician Ahmed Radhi Stadium at Al-Karkh Club.

Al-Nawras’ three goals were scored by Ali Sadiq in the 40th minute, Muntadher Abdul Amir in the 45th minute, and Murad Mohammed in the 55th minute, while Al-Naft’s goal came through player Odo in the 91st minute.
