The president of the Portuguese club, Farense, Joao Rodrigues, set one condition for agreeing to the transfer of the young Algerian international winger, Mohamed Bashir Belloumi (22 years old), to the French team, Olympique de Marseille, in the current summer transfer market 2024.
Many European clubs are trying to sign Bashir Belloumi in the current transfer window, most notably Olympique de Marseille.
The deal was close to happening last month, but the procrastination of the Varense president and the increase in his financial demands made the negotiations return to square one, but with the latest statements from Rodriguez, Bloumi’s move to Marseille is subject to one condition.
Bashir Beloumi to Marseille on one condition
President Rodriguez said, as reported by the platform: Sport French: “We received many offers from Marseille and we did not reach an agreement. All the offers we received would make the deal for Bloumi a record deal for us. We want Bloumi to stay, but at the same time we will not give him up easily, and we will not do so except under the conditions we have set. If Marseille wants the player, they must pay his value.”
The statements made by the president of Varense on Sunday were interpreted by the Portuguese press as setting one condition for the deal to be completed: selling the player at a price he sets. After Marseille withdrew and lost hope of signing Blomé, Rodriguez revived the attempts of the southern French club, and according to reports, Varense will not accept less than 10 million euros in order to agree to the deal.
Bashir Beloumi is the most expensive and most valuable in the history of Varense
In any case, Bachir Belloumi will sooner or later become the most expensive sale in Farense’s history, breaking the record set by veteran Brazilian striker Bruno Duarte when he moved to Red Star Belgrade this summer for two million euros.

Bloumi is also the most expensive player in terms of market value in the history of Varense, after his value currently reached the 4 million euro barrier, compared to only 300 thousand euros last year, which reflects the extent of the development and maturity of the promising Algerian striker.
Bashir Belloumi’s numbers with Farense
Bloumi was promoted from the youth team to the first team of Varense at the beginning of last season, meaning that he spent only one season with the club’s seniors, yet he left a strong and clear mark, and became on the radars of many leading European clubs.
Bloumi scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists last season with Varense in all competitions.
Bloumi, a former player at Mouloudia d’Oran, finished last season of the Portuguese league as runner-up on the Varense team’s scorers list behind his Brazilian teammate Duarte, and as runner-up on the assists list behind his Portuguese teammate Marco Matias.
