The Italian club did not disclose the financial details of the deal in its statement, but Italian media said that Roma’s right-back cost the team 15 million euros.
The Rossoneri explained in their statement that the Brazilian defender signed a contract with the Lombard club until June 30, 2028, with the option to extend for one year.

Emerson Royal was born in São Paulo (Brazil) on January 14, 1999, and began his football career in the youth team of Ponte Preta, where he made his debut with the first team in February 2017.
He participated in 25 matches and scored one goal for the team, and in 2018, he joined Atletico Mineiro, and played 23 matches and scored one goal, before signing with Real Betis in January 2019.
Shortly after, he joined Barcelona, but he barely played for the team and was forced to leave due to the club’s economic crisis. He left in 2021, while his last stop was at Tottenham Hotspur, which he joined for 25 million euros.
During his time at Tottenham, he played, Emerson Royal 101 appearances in various competitions, in the English Premier League and the Champions League, and the 25-year-old contributed to 6 goals (scored 4, assisted 2).
It is noteworthy that the Lombard club last season came in second place in the Italian League with 75 points, behind the champion Inter Milan, which won the title with 94 points.
