The Manchester City defender was keen to send a message to Al-Nassr fans and players, on the occasion of this celebration, and in the presence of captain Cristiano Ronaldo, expressing his great happiness with this wonderful gesture.
Laporte hints at staying at Al-Nassr
Laporte said in a message published by Al-Nassr club on its official account on the social media platform:X“I wanted to send you a quick message.. Thank you for this beautiful celebration.”
Laporte stressed that the most important thing in the upcoming 2024-25 season is for Al-Nassr to present a better level than it appeared in last season, from which the team left with “zero titles.”
The 30-year-old added: “The most important thing for me is that we focus on next season and what we can do to help the club move forward, and I hope we can perform better than before.”
He concluded his message by saying: “Thank you for the achievement I made with my country’s national team in the Euro, because I was part of you during the last season, we achieved the title in the end and I thank you all.”
Al-Nassr had previously received an offer worth $21 million from Spanish club Athletic Bilbao to buy Laporte, but the Saudi league runner-up refused to sell him due to the low financial value.
