Kishu released after Olympics sexual assault charges

French police forces released Egyptian wrestler Mohamed Ibrahim El Sayed, known as “Kisho”, today, Saturday, after the charge of sexual assault against him was not proven, while he was in Paris, to participate in Olympic Games “Paris Olympics 2024”.

French police forces arrested wrestler Mohamed Ibrahim El-Sayed, at dawn on Friday, while he was drunk, as a French woman accused him of sexually assaulting her outside a café in Paris.

The Public Prosecutor closed the investigations against the Egyptian wrestler due to the lack of any evidence against him, after reviewing the cameras at the scene of the incident, as the French investigation authorities did not find any shameful act by the Egyptian player towards the girl who claimed that he had attempted to harass her.

The Egyptian wrestler left the police station to Charles de Gaulle Airport in preparation for his return to Cairo on Saturday evening.

The Egyptian Olympic Committee had referred Kishou to the Ethics Committee to investigate his exit from the Olympic Committee headquarters without his knowledge, but the committee intends to divert the course of the investigations to simply discuss his exit from the Olympic Village after the harassment charge was dropped.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian star had won the bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling competitions at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but he bid farewell to the round of 16 at the hands of the Azerbaijani champion, losing due to a lack of equality.

The Egyptian mission has only won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics so far, won by Egyptian champion Mohamed El-Sayed “Kisho” in the fencing sabre.
