The team signed Al-Faisaly In the trap, and came out tied with its host Ma’an without goals, in the match that took place on Saturday evening at Prince Mohammed Stadium in Zarqa, at the conclusion of the first round of the Jordanian Football League.
Five matches ended in a win in the first round, with the exception of the Al-Faisaly and Ma’an match, so Al-Wehdat team topped the Jordanian League standings with 3 points, ahead on goal difference from… Al Hussein Irbid Ramtha, Al-Ahly and Salt.
The goalless draw is a painful blow to Al-Faisaly at the beginning of the journey, especially since it aspires to regain the Jordanian League title, while the point is important for the Ma’an team, which seeks stability.
Control without danger for Al-Faisaly
Al-Faisaly team had chances to control the match due to the experience of its players and professionals; however, Ma’an team knew how to deal with the pressure, as it closed the spaces in its field.
Al-Faisaly coach Ahmed Hael fielded a model lineup, but the lack of harmony between the players and the difficulty of the pitch affected him, leaving Al-Faisaly without danger, even though his defender Hossam Abu Al-Dhahab’s shot went just a little in front of the goal.
Al-Faisaly suffered a severe blow after its star player, Fadhel Heikal, was injured and taken to the hospital.
In the second half, Al-Faisaly team tried to intensify its attacks with the presence of Omar Hani, the Palestinian Tamer Siam, the Syrian Mohammed Rayhaniya, and pushed Suhaib Abu Hashesh; but Ma’an succeeded in building a solid defensive arsenal, and its players excelled in thwarting the danger of the competitor, to come out in the end with a valuable point.
Pogba leads Al-Salt to victory in the Jordanian League
Mohamed Abdel-Muttalib, nicknamed “Pogba”, managed to lead his new team, Al-Salt, to a valuable victory over its guest, Shabab Al-Urdun, 2-1, giving it 3 important points.
Pogba moved from Al-Wehdat to Al-Salt on loan after a dispute with the technical staff, proving that his departure from the Green Giant’s fortress was a loss for the team.
Mohamed Abdel-Muttalib scored the first goal for Al-Salt after following up a ball inside the penalty area and confidently shooting it to the left of the Shabab Al-Urdun goalkeeper in the 17th minute.
Al-Salt team did not enjoy the lead goal for long, as Shabab Al-Urdun team quickly scored the equalizer from a corner kick that found Rawad Abu Khaizaran, who headed it into the goal in the 23rd minute.
In the second half, Al-Salt’s attacks were more dangerous and energetic, and Mohamed Abdel-Muttalib succeeded in scoring the winning goal in the 55th minute, as he received a perfect ball on the edge of the penalty area, and shot it powerfully into the youth net.
