Karbala Club, which is active in the Iraqi Football League, was subjected to a ban on the process of contracting and registering players for the new season 2024/2025 due to a Brazilian professional who had previously signed with the “Dean” without playing for the team.
Karbala Club will be banned from registering professional and local players for the new season and will not be able to register them in its records with the Iraqi Football Association, despite the club having concluded a number of deals and contracting with the Spanish coach Carlos Hernandez.
The Iraqi Karbala Club stated in a statement: “The administrative ban imposed on Karbala Club by the International Federation (FIFA) The decision not to register players for the new season was imposed due to the Brazilian player Lauder de Silva, who was signed with an initial contract by the club’s management and then excluded because the technical staff was not convinced of his level.
He continued: “After that, the Brazilian player took the initiative to file a lawsuit against the Karbala administration, and the lawsuit was accepted by the International Federation of Football Association.”
He added: “FIFA informed the club’s management to pay the player’s dues within a maximum period of 30 days, as the dues were paid in full by the management of the club affiliated to the Iraqi league within a period of 14 days with video documentation of the delivery and receipt from the plaintiff player’s lawyer, and this is confirmed by the official letters sent to FIFA, which will also be sent to the Iraqi Football Association, which confirm the delivery and receipt of the financial amounts with the letter closing the case.”
He added: “The Karbala Club management was surprised today by the administrative ban decision on the same lawsuit, which prompted the Karbala Club management to request an appeal and provide evidence and proof in the payment process to reject the lawsuit, as the Karbala Club management confirms that it will take all legal and judicial means to guarantee the rights of the Karbala Club.”
Karbala is not the only club in the Iraqi league banned from registering players
Karbala Club will not be the only Iraqi club facing a ban on contracts, as sources confirmed to “win win“FIFA has decided to ban the registration of players in 5 Iraqi clubs, due to cases of dues owed by former players, as the legal period has passed from the date of filing the complaint without the amounts being paid.”
She added: “The clubs are Al-Shorta, Erbil, Al-Qasim, Al-Hudud and Karbala, as the ban was temporary for all clubs except Karbala, which was banned from registering players for two periods due to the large number of complaints and the passage of a long period without paying the contracts of professional players.”
The summer transfer period in the Iraqi League continues until October 2nd.
