Imam Ashour’s position on participating with Egypt against Guinea Bissau

Ibrahim Hassan, director of the Egyptian national team, revealed Imam Ashour’s position Al-Ahly club playerfrom participating against Guinea Bissau in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Ashour had felt strain in his connective muscle, so he was replaced during the Egyptian national team’s victory over Burkina Faso by two goals to one, in the third round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup.

The Egyptian national team is preparing to travel to face its host, Guinea Bissau, on Monday evening, June 10, in the fourth round of the World Cup qualifiers for the African continent.

Ibrahim Hassan confirmed the player’s readiness for the Guinea-Bissau match, saying in television statements on the Egyptian On Time Sports network: “Imam is fine and can play normally in the next match.”

Ibrahim also confirmed that the player was not angry about his replacement, explaining that he spoke to him to confirm that Imam did not intend to deal badly with any member of the technical staff, but was only thinking about the possibility of him joining the next match after the injury.
