Organize Egypt national team A press conference to talk about the current international break, which will witness the Cape Verde and Botswana national teams facing off, in the presence of Hossam Hassan, the national team’s technical director, and player Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, who recently transferred to the ranks of Al Rayyan of Qatar.
The Egyptian team is preparing to face Cape Verde Tomorrow, Friday, then travels to face Botswana in the first and second rounds of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Hossam Hassan is “upset” about not implementing his training program!
Hossam Hassan said in the press conference: “I had hoped that all the local players would be present since the beginning of the camp, especially since most of them had a long rest period and had to be prepared technically and physically before playing the two matches. All I asked for was only three days before the international agenda to save what could be saved.”
The Egyptian national team camp started on August 28 with only 6 players, noting that the international agenda started on September 1, which was the reason for Al-Ahly and Zamalek not sending their players.
Hossam commented on the matter, saying: “I wish there was cooperation from all clubs in supporting the national team before the two matches, especially since the Cape Verde national team prepared well for this match through a strong preparation period. If things are managed randomly, the results may be negative, and it is possible that it will lead to the national team not reaching the African Nations Championship.”
He added: “The Moroccan national team is completely different from Egypt because it has a long-term plan that was worked on by the Moroccan Federation and qualified it to create a distinguished team. Things are managed randomly for us. I did not ask for a month or a week. I only asked for 3 days before the gathering from the players and clubs. As long as you want to commit to the international agenda, you must commit to the league schedule without postponements. This is for that.”
Al-Ameed also talked about the absence of Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, who recently joined Nice, saying: “Mohamed Abdel-Moneim requested not to be included in the current national team camp due to his travel to Nice in the past few days, and the national team’s technical staff accepted Mohamed Abdel-Moneim’s desire not to participate in the two matches.”
He continued, saying: “I love Egypt, and I will work under any party. I cannot resign because I love the soil of this country, despite the lack of a system in Egyptian football. I seek to develop the national team. I am able to overcome any difficulties, and we have players who are able to launch the qualifying stage in a positive way.”
