Fritz secured his fourth victory over the German out of 9 encounters between them in 3 hours and 29 minutes, reaching the quarter-finals for the second time at Wimbledon (after 2022) and the fourth in the Grand Slam tournaments, while Zverev’s suffering continued on the Wimbledon courts, as he has not gone beyond the fourth round in eight participations so far.

In his next test in the quarter-finals, Fritz will meet Italian Lorenzo Musetti, ranked 25th in the world, who in turn defeated Frenchman Giovanni Mbitchi-Pericard in three sets (4-6), (6-3), (6-3), and (6-2).

Muzzetti joined fellow countryman Jannik Sinner, who booked his place in the quarter-finals on Sunday with a win over American Ben Shelton. It is the first time that the 22-year-old Muzzetti, who is participating in Wimbledon for the fourth time, has reached the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam tournament.
