Deschamps’ first comment after France’s victory against Ireland

Didier Deschamps, coach of the France national team, stressed his happiness after the victory over Ireland, in the Euro qualifiers, with a clean double.

Deschamps said in his statements after the match during the press conference: “We did everything we had to do in today’s match, after obtaining nearly ten chances against a good team with a great defensive mass.”

He continued: “We could have played faster, but we scored two goals and did not concede any, and this is a good thing. The victory helps us move forward to achieve our goal. What we regret is that we did not make a greater impact with the number of opportunities we had.”
