Algerian President Tebboune inaugurates the new Tizi Ouzou stadium


Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune supervised, on Wednesday, July 10, the inauguration of the new Tizi Ouzou stadium, which bears the name of the late Mujahid Hussein Ait Ahmed.

The Tizi Ouzou stadium, located east of the Algerian capital, has joined the list of stadiums built by the Algerian authorities in recent years, which are the Nelson Mandela and Martyr Ali Ammar stadiums in the capital, in addition to the Miloud Hadefi stadium in the Oran province in the west of the country.

The Algerian authorities also succeeded in restoring the Chahid Hamlaoui and May 19, 1956 stadiums in the provinces of Constantine and Annaba, respectively, east of the capital.

President Tebboune inaugurated the new Tizi Ouzou stadium as part of a working and inspection visit to the Algerian province, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, and in the presence of local authorities and officials of the JS Kabylie club.

The JS Kabylie club, which will once again use the new stadium, commented on this occasion by posting on its official Facebook page, saying: “It’s JS Kabylie time.”

For his part, Hakim Madane, General Manager of the JS Kabylie Club, spoke about the inauguration of the new Tizi Ouzou stadium, saying: “This is a big day for the JS Kabylie team with the inauguration of this masterpiece stadium. The club deserves this stadium. We are working hard to build a team worthy of the youth and the new stadium.”

He added, “We will start working on the new stadium immediately after its inauguration by the President of the Republic, and we will start training there and preparing for the next season.”
