The website reported:asromaliveThe Italian club Roma, which signed Saud Abdul Hamid this summer from Al Hilal, received a huge Saudi offer exceeding one billion euros to acquire ownership of the club.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Roma could witness a major change in its future, and the club’s ownership could move from the American Friedkin family to Saudi investors.
The report indicated that negotiations are currently underway between the two parties, and the proposed deal includes paying 900 million euros to purchase Roma, in addition to 300 million euros as a penalty clause.
As for the potential parties to acquire Roma, the first party is the Saudi Investment Fund, while the second may be the Saudi Entertainment Authority, which has a two-year partnership contract with the Italian capital club.
Saud Abdul Hamid deal opens up prospects for cooperation
The Friedkin family has been running Roma since the summer of 2020, and has recently made significant and influential investments with Saudi Arabia, most notably the signing of the club’s right-back Crescent Saud Abdul Hamid for 3 years.
The Saud deal has helped create strong ties between the two parties, making a potential Saudi takeover a strong possibility, especially as Roma awaits funding to build its new stadium, paving the way for a new future for the club under Saudi Arabian management.
Roma had signed Saud Abdulhamid for €2.5m, according to various sources, with the possibility of adding €500,000 in variables and incentives, meaning the deal could reach a maximum of €3m in total.
Days ago, Italian media confirmed that there is a close link between the player’s transfer deal and the two-year “Riyadh Season” partnership contract with Roma, which was signed last October, and under which the “Giallorossi” received about 25 million euros in two years.
Riyadh Season is one of the programs of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, and aims to sponsor sports and entertainment events that have been held since 2019 in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the period from October to March of each year.
The agreement was signed between the Saudi Entertainment Authority and Roma Club, and according to it, the “Riyadh Season” logo will appear on the chest of the Italian club’s shirts for men, women and youth.
It is noteworthy that Abdul Hamid, 25, is one of the most important Saudi players in recent years, and he contributed to his team Al-Hilal winning the local treble last season, after winning the titles Saudi Roshen Leaguethe Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, and the Saudi Super Cup.
With the Saudi national team, the player played 33 international matches, during which he scored one goal and made three others. His current market value is 4 million euros, according to data from the website “Transfer Market“global.
