11 teams participate in the Arab Wrestling Championship

11 Arab countries announced their participation in the Arab Championship competitions For wrestling (Freestyle, Romanian and Women), which Jordan is hosting at the Sports Palace Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City, during the period from 22 to 25 May of this year, after the registration period officially closes.

In addition to the “organizing country” Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco are participating in the Arab Wrestling Championship.

186 male and female players (157 male and female, 29 female), 31 referees, and 29 coaches are participating in the tournament, in addition to 29 administrators, members of participating federations, and heads of delegations, with a total of 275 participants, in the presence of a group of local and Arab media representatives.

In turn, Jordan participates with 37 players, 10 female players, 12 referees and 5 coaches, while Iraq competes with 30 players, 7 coaches and 6 referees. The Algerian delegation includes 23 male players, 8 female players, 3 referees and 6 coaches. Tunisia participates with 6 male players, 7 female players, coaches and a referee. Morocco also enters the Arab Championship with 6 male and female players, two coaches and a referee. Egypt is represented by 6 male and female players, two referees and a coach.

Saudi Arabia enters the tournament with 25 players, coaches, and two referees, while Syria participates with 21 players, coaches, and 4 referees. Palestine’s participation is limited to two players and a coach, while Qatar participates with a player and a coach.

Jordan hosts the first women’s edition of the Arab Championship

The President of the Jordanian Wrestling Federation, Engineer Muhammad Al-Awamleh, said in press statements: “The current edition of the Arab Championship enjoys wide and exceptional participation, and this reflects the pivotal role that Jordan plays in managing major sporting events with high efficiency.” Al-Awamleh revealed that history will record the holding of the first Arab version with women’s participation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
